Tenerife
Tenerife is the largest of the seven Canary Islands and probably the most popular destination. Tenerife has many popular tourist destinations and is also the home of mount Teide, the highest peak in Spain. We have listed some of the main destinations towards the bottom of this page.
The capital of Tenerife is Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which is located in the north-east part of the island and although not really a tourist destination, does attract shoppers looking for the larger department stores and is where most of the main governmental offices are.
The weather conditions in Tenerife depend greatly on the area. the north coast (Puerto de La Cruz) is much greener and attracts slightly more rain than the areas in the south, but generally Tenerife boasts an incredible climate with very little rainfall per year.
